About

Bennings Heating & Air

Open Since 1972

Bennings Heating & Air in Prattsville, AR was first opened for business by "Poodle" Bennings in 1972. He originally operated the business out of his garage in a makeshift office. The business has since grown each year, and eventually, a new building was built a few miles from the Bennings' residence. Shortly after Poodle retired from the business and handed operations down to his son, Mark Bennings. Mark has been working for the family business since he was 12 years old. During Mark's high school years, he participated in a school program that allowed Poodle to pick him up at lunch every day so that he could work the afternoons. As soon as he was able to drive he was independently running a service truck. Mark's aggressive approach is what has made the business what it is today. We believe that our service is better because Mark is able to implement a hands-on approach with our service and installation technicians daily, which results in better communication and higher customer satisfaction.

A Note from the Owner

"I originally started Bennings Heating & Air, Inc. as a way to better provide for my young family and to avoid shift work so that I could be close to home with them on a more regular basis. I acquired skills of the trade through working as an HVAC technician for the Arkla Gas Company for 8 years and as an operational engineer for Teletype (now known as AT&T) for 4 years. Eventually, I obtained a Master's Electrician's License. Money was thin the first few years of business, and I worked on everything but TVs for people to make ends meet, but it finally took off. As time went on, I was able to work predominantly on central HVAC systems which was my ideal trade. I was one man with a truck and some tools back in the day, and then after school and on the weekends I would round up my son, Mark, and his cousins to install the equipment that I had sold during the week. It has come a long way since then. Mark does an excellent job operating it now."
